Hot Driver , Visit to the Dentist

March 31, 2017

I am not talking about a hot driver oozing with abs and sexiness. I am talking about me driving at 1 o’clock in the afternoon under the blazing sun. Not enough drivers on this day because it’s end of the month, an extremely busy day for all car dealers.

Background:
Friday after dinner, after eating three bowls of sago and gulaman and munching the tiny ice cubes, ouch. I felt throbbing pains on my lower right gum. Sakit ipin ko. The dentist’s schedule for saturday was full but if it’s emergency, she would accommodate me. I decided to just bear the pain and visit the dentist the following Monday. I would be her last patient at 3 pm.

Monday, perfect timing. No drivers today. The office could send me one but since I knew it’s a busy day, I didn’t want to pull out a driver. I told Edmund I’ll just drive. And I did.

Two blocks from our house, I was already regretting my decision to drive by myself. Second regret, I took the old Ford Everest which we use for utility, for errands. It was already parked outside the house so I just drove off. If I would bring a car from the garage, I have to maneuver pa. Natamad ako and I regretted my decision.

It was so hot and glary. I thought the air condition was no match to the sun’s heat but yun pala my setting was wrong. I didn’t press the a/c, so it was only in “fan”. Within minutes after I pressed the A/C button, the air started cooling off.

Still, I was still feeling regretful. Traffic was so bad. Imagine, our house from the dentist should only be a 10-15 minute drive. It took me one hour and a half. I already anticipated the bad traffic that’s why I left at 1 pm although my appointment was at 3 pm. I arrived at 2:30 pm. Problema naman ang parking.

They don’t have parking, only street parking. Isiniksik ko yung Everest sa unahan ng tricycle. Nag-kasya naman although I encroached on the pedestrian crossing lane by a meter.

There was a sorbetero parked near the intersection. I bought a cup for P20 pesos. I wanted to buy a cup too for the traffic aide kasi kawawa naman ang init nasa gitna ng kalye but he couldn’t hear me. He was busy directing the chaotic traffic.

I was half hour early to my appointment. Good, I needed a few minutes to cool off. I slowly ate my sorbetes, then I asked for a cup of water from the dentist’s assistant.

The dentist put some medicine on one tooth. I told her I didn’t think that’s the one aching. Yun daw. She placed something in my tooth and told me to come back on wednesday (April 5) to observe. She assured me the pain would go away, however, if it does not, then I may come in anytime before April 5. I paid 1,000 pesos for the procedure.

Driving home was a lot easier. To begin with, it was a lot cooler. At 4 pm, it was not as sunny and hot.

I had some difficulty driving fast because of the jeepney, UV Express and naku lalo na yung mga motorbikes. Basta lang sila takbo ng takbo, they even cross without looking, cut my path. Nagugulat ako bigla na lang merong lulusot at gigilid pa ang tuling.
