New Year’s Eve Fireworks Display

December 31, 2017

Las Vegas welcomed the New Year with a countdown followed by  fireworks display sponsored by a few hotels along The Strip.

We didn’t want to go to Las Vegas Blvd to watch the fireworks display because traffic would be heavy and parking would be impossible.   Police cars  were everywhere.  They also blocked several access roads for security reasons.

Snipers were also positioned on top of buildings according to the tv report.  Alongside the thousands of policemen,  there were also national guards called in to help prevent any untoward incident.

After our dinner at P. F. Chang’s,  we just stayed in the parking lot and dozed off for a few minutes while waiting for midnight.
I set my cellphone’s alarm to 11:45 and 11:50 pm to make sure we don’t wake up the next morning.

There were also other vehicles waiting for the New Year’s eve fireworks.

I thought the view from our hotel parking lot would be better because it’s closer to the Strip but Edmund said it’s better to watch farther away. The female security guard of P. F. Chang told him the view from there would be nicer.

Lundag baka sakali tumangkad pa ako.

My husband couldn’t stand the cold so he stayed inside the car with heater. Kasi naman he didn’t wear a thicker jacket.

We thank the heavens for giving us this opportunity to visit other places to witness their own celebration of the New Year.

Happy New Year. May 2018 bring us nothing but goodness, happiness, good health, prosperity, success in all our endeavors, love from our family, laughter with our friends.

May kindness and compassion reign over us.

Peace to mankind.
