Oyen and I discovered Korean franchise Caffe Bene. There’s one located on 49th Street near the apartment we’re staying at. We wanted dessert but most of the restaurants were already closed because it was almost midnight. We were walking home when we saw Caffe Bene.

I was never fond of waffles but after tasting their strawberry waffle, I began craving for it.

Oyen ordered the one with cream cheese and big strawberries.
$6.50 + sales tax

Their place has that Coffee Bean vibe. They have a more private section with a library

We went back the next day and I ordered the same thing. They didn’t drizzle it with strawberry sauce so I brought it back. The lady said it’s really not supposed to come with strawberry sauce. I told her we were there last night and they put a lot of fresh strawberry sauce. She insisted that her staff didn’t know the recipe.
She said she’s going to put the sauce but it’s not standard.

She was the same person who put the strawberry sauce last night.

After I ate all of this, I realized that I liked the strawberry sauce more than the waffle. Kasi what they have is not just a syrup, it has lots of diced fresh strawberries. Masarap papakin. I wonder where I can buy a bottle of those.

There’s a Caffe Bene na pala in Eastwood, Philippines. They opened this year.
I will try their waffle to see if the strawberry sauce is the same.

  1. You should go to 32nd Street if you want anything korean, from mid to hi-end restos (the Gaonnuri at the top floor) and a korean bakery called Tous Les Jours. But that would be weird, looking for things korean in New York. 🙂 You’re better off shopping Gangnam-style at the Gangnam district in Seoul. 🙂

    1. Hi, Thank you for the suggestions. We’ve been to the Korean restos at 32nd street several times in the past.
