My daughter went diving in Batangas so Edmund and I were her representatives to the dinner hosted by Ford Group Philippines at Okada Casino and Resort on July 13, 2018.
I rarely attend Ford events, maybe once a year. It is always Edmund and Oyen. I am happy with my role as the stage mother, watching from the background.
We miscalculated the traffic. We allotted an hour but it took us an hour just to reach Guadalupe from Ortigas Avenue.
We thought we would just catch the dessert but luckily the event started 10 minutes after we arrived. Nakahabol kami.
It was my first time to meet in person Ford Philippine’s new managing director, Bertrand Lessard. He said “Edmund, you brought along your other daughter”. He is such a nice fellow and has a good sense of humor.

Dr. Mike Tan asked me why we sent Oyen and Nyke to ICA and Xavier respectively. We wanted them to learn the Chinese language.
It was actually buffet but the waiters brought us food instead.

The awarding of certificates to the employees started after dinner. My husband thought he could trick me into going up the stage to pin the awards.

With the thumbs up sign, they looked like FVR’s cabinet secretaries. During photo ops, FVR always encouraged everyone to do this thumbs up sign and then he would shout “kaya natin ‘to”.
